Silver Linings- Creating Paths to a Better Future

Great perils have this beauty, that they bring to light the fraternity of strangers.”

Victor Hugo

May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.”

Nelson Mandela

Many people have probably been thinking the same thing for a while now: the true horror of COVID 19 going forward - beyond the terrible suffering, fear and loss of life - will be if we don’t learn some very important lessons from it.  There is no going back from this unwanted experiment and what it has shown us about empathy and responsibility, and the possibilities for doing life, business and government differently.

A crisis is a terrible thing to waste.  Let’s learn something from this!  And let’s commit:

  • as individuals, to be the change we want to see

  • as citizens and global neighbours, to work together on that which can only be done by consensus, collectively

There have been so many adaptive and creative things that might otherwise not have developed. This project is aimed at collecting and sharing them, and finding ways of making them outlast this frightening time. We expect to base future community projects on what we learn from this experience, and from you.  Any change toward the good will be worth it.  Another thing Nelson Mandela said can help us see lasting change as necessary and possible: “There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”

So we ask you to share:

  • how you are exercising your creativity – your capacity to envision or create – the new normal

  • what you have seen others do that you think belongs in your life or our collective lives going forward

Please, just go ahead and submit a post for review. PHP4 Climate Action invites community members to reflect on and share their own experience through this crisis by:

  •  commenting on blogs

  • submitting your own blog using any of the categories below (please feel free to create your own category) at infophp4ca@gmail.com

Please note: comments and submissions will be moderated and vetted to ensure our Discussion Etiquette Standards are met.

Thank you,
